Dr. Avi Patil, MD – Clinical Pharmacology Advisor

Avi Patil, MDDr. Avi Patil is a triple board-certified physician in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and clinical pharmacology. With a focus on high-risk pregnancies, he has extensive experience in complex prenatal care, fetal diagnostics, and the safe use of medications during pregnancy. His unique combination of specialties allows him to address both maternal and fetal well-being with precision, using evidence-based strategies to reduce complications and improve outcomes.

A longstanding member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine since 2008, Dr. Patil has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on advancing prenatal care protocols and contributing to research in pharmacologic safety during pregnancy. His interest in clinical pharmacology bridges the gap between treatment and safety, making him a valuable resource for interpreting how medications affect both mother and child. Dr. Francisco García, MD, MPH, FACOG – Public Health and Women’s Health Advisor

Francisco GarciaDr. Francisco García is a physician executive with over two decades of leadership in public health, women’s health, and cancer prevention. A Distinguished Outreach Professor at the University of Arizona, he holds appointments in Public Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Mexican American Studies, and Clinical Pharmacy. His clinical and research focus centers on HPV-related diseases, cervical cancer prevention, and the implementation of innovative technologies to improve outcomes for underserved populations.

Dr. García has played an influential role in shaping national strategies for women’s health and cancer prevention. He serves on several key committees, including the NIH Advisory Committee for Research on Women’s Health and the American Cancer Society’s HPV Vaccine Clinical Guidelines Committee, which he currently chairs. Through his work on both sides of the U.S.–Mexico border and with Indigenous and Latin American communities, Dr. García continues to advocate for equitable healthcare access and leads initiatives that bridge academic research and practical, community-focused solutions.

Jasmin Schmitz, MS, PA-C – Clinical Support Consultant

Jasmin SchmitzJasmin Schmitz is a certified Physician Assistant with a strong foundation in physiology and hands-on clinical care. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University with a 3.96 GPA and was recognized for her leadership as a House of Delegates Representative in student government. Prior to graduate school, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiology at the University of Arizona, graduating summa cum laude and actively contributing as a campus ambassador and academic preceptor.

Jasmin combines academic excellence with practical experience in patient care and medical decision-making. Her training includes certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), equipping her with essential skills for fast-paced and high-stakes healthcare environments. Karen Tsui, PharmD – Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona after completing a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences, combining both disciplines to support holistic, patient-centered care. Throughout her studies, she was actively involved in professional organizations like the American Pharmacists Association and the Arizona Pharmacy Association.

Her professional interests focus on optimizing medication therapy through nutritional insight and collaborative care models. Karen brings a thoughtful, well-rounded approach to patient counseling and pharmaceutical care, drawing on her foundation in both pharmacology and health sciences to guide safe, effective treatment decisions.

Phillip Lorenz, PharmD – Clinical Pharmacy Consultant

Phillip Lorenz, pharmdPhillip Lorenz is a licensed pharmacist with a strong academic background in molecular biosciences and biotechnology. After earning his Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, he went on to complete his Doctor of Pharmacy at Midwestern University, where he was actively involved in student leadership, serving as Treasurer of the Nuclear Pharmacy Club and a member of Rho Chi Honor Society.

Phillip brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to pharmacy practice, shaped by his foundation in molecular biology and clinical training. His interests span from innovative pharmaceutical care to advanced drug therapies. As part of clinical consulting work, he supports medication review, safety evaluations, and personalized therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Anthony Coco, PharmD – Clinical Pharmacist

Anthony CocoAnthony Coco is a licensed pharmacist with a recent PharmD from Belmont University, where he cultivated a strong clinical and academic foundation. His background in health sciences from Drake University and involvement in Phi Delta Chi and APhA shaped his interest in delivering hands-on, collaborative care.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, Anthony focuses on medication safety, patient education, and pharmacy operations support. His calm, thoughtful approach and dedication to effective communication make him a valuable resource in optimizing therapeutic outcomes and supporting both patients and healthcare providers.
